The focus of the STEM lab is to incorporate interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math exhibits with local artifacts and cultural heritage. This room is one part of a larger Kid's Zone space.

The History & Arts Experience is an interactive space incorporating history and art from our collection and region into activities and learning opportunities. A part of the larger Kid's Zone space, this room will be the "A" in our STEAM focus.

The Training Room is a part of the larger Sports Zone. This educational area will utilize interactive opportunities to teach about the science of sports, while exposing visitors to the area's rich sports heritage.

The Hall of Fame is a part of the larger Sports Zone and will incorporate local sports legends and achievements into interactive experiences that both educate and entertain visitors.

The Archives will be an accessible repository and research center for the Museum's collection of documents, books, ledgers, photographs, maps, etc., as well as interactive and educational displays on textiles, photography, cartography, genealogy and more.

The Cherokee Historical & Preservation Society, Inc. operates primarily on private and corporate donations. These donations are supplemented by government and private grants, product sales, museum admissions, and fundraising events. Please help sustain the important work of the Society, and this project, by giving today.

Kids Zone

The Kids Zone consists of two areas, the STEM Lab and the History & Arts Experience. Together, these spaces are the focus of the Museum’s STEAM initiative. The STEM Lab will provide dynamic experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, while the History & Arts Experience will incorporate history and art from our culture and region into interactive activities in the performing, visual, and literary arts.

Sports Zone

The Sports Zone consists of two areas, a Hall of Fame and The Training Room. The non-traditional Hall of Fame will honor local sports legends and highlight sports history through video, displays, and interactives. The Training Room will allow kids of all ages to have hands-on experiences learning about the science of sports and careers in health sciences while exposing visitors to the area’s rich sports heritage.

The Archives and Research Room provides the opportunity for the historical society to make available its vast collection to the public. In addition, the expansive space will provide interactive exhibits, such as the Technology and Art of Textiles and the History and Science of Photography, as well as educational opportunities through programming.
